HOW TO BUILD A BRICK PIZZA OVEN

Ovens are one of those appliances used at home that takes the maximum space and the utilization and maintenance of it is also considered to be gruel someone. The thought of building a new oven at home has always been one of the night mares for us but instead of all these ovens is the most treasured kitchen appliances used at home. Using a brick oven has been one of the most interesting and exciting one and so the building of it is also.

For building of a brick oven the steps need to be followed strictly and so are the first firing of it after it is completely built. The following steps as mentioned in the following are to be considered as the key steps. The preliminary step is to lay foundation for the oven built that has to be of cement bricks those has to laid upon the reinforced cement base with an opening in the front to store basic amenities like wood, ash boxed.

Firtsly, choosing the firebricks as the firebricks dimensions has to be 8.8”x4.5x2.6” and the floor bricks has to be 11.5”x11.5”x2.5” all these are chosen as per the condition of high temperature and pressure developed inside the oven. The insulation has to be complete beneath the floor with perlite (mixture of perlite and cement) and the mortar used should be water proof.

Secondly, the well built of medium duty oven depends upon the continuous mortar application after every layer of bricks is prepared. A proper cement/perlite has to make above the dome that depends upon the flexibility of the builder’s space. Normally three storeys of bricks in vertical height and then dome support structure develop with only two storeys of bricks.

Then the dome support cavity is to be filled with perlite again then the floor bricks has to be laid above it. The red bricks (fire bricks) dome structure a start building from this layer and one has to complete the dome with layers of mortar to support.

The final step is to apply another thick layer of perlite to cover the dome of the oven completely to reinforce the strength of the structure and one thing as it well recommended at every construction is to keep applying water while applying mortar as it strengths the structure. The constructional help can be done by several sites which can give the customized help for the building of the oven. The above steps are just the basic few steps that to be kept in mind and followed during the construction but one thing that is to kept in mind that is the location of the oven must be in a open space if not possible other appliances should be kept at least 15 feet distance from the oven to prevent heat radiation and emergency situation that are some of the few most important factors. Operation of the oven post construction should not be at high heat as gradual heat implementation is recommended.
